Russian pianist and Steinway Artist Igor Tchetuev makes a welcome return to London on Tuesday 3rd December.  He was born in Sebastopol (Ukraine) in 1980. At the age of 14 he won the Vladimir Krainev Young Pianists Competition (Ukraine) and subsequently became a student of Mo. Krainev.  At the age of 18, he was awarded 1st Prize and voted ‘Audience Favourite’ at the 1998 Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Competition in Tel Aviv.  Since then his career has taken him around the world as soloist and with orchestra.  He will be appearing in the UK with the London Philharmonic Orchestra in Spring 2020.

Tchetuev brought a genuine thrill – a sound that Neuhaus, Sofronitsky and Richter would have recognised. That indefinable ‘Russian’ quality in the mid-range, the crystalline treble and the defined bass, all combined with a very strong interpretative personality. In a word – glorious!”

Beaming like a laser, confident yet unaggressive, shining, colourful, structured without being rigid, the work of Igor Tchetuev makes every piece’s vital force emerge.” Alain Lompech, Le Monde
